Our field services intent on supplying an efficient and cost effective method which will address the unique groundwater concerns of its clientèle.
Ketek’s internationally recognized Cyclonator Incinerators - manufactured to customer specifications at our fabrication plant in Edmonton, Canada - are successfully eliminating solid waste at more than 300 locations around the world, from Sakhalin Island in Russia across to Northern Alaska and South to Antarctica.
They’re the preferred solution for waste disposal in dozens of communities and at hundreds of oilfield, mining, hospital and military sites. They reduce or eliminate the cost of transporting waste to central landfills and the risks of handling hazardous materials.
Ketek’s experience in manufacturing, assembling and maintaining these units - combined with solid waste management practices for source separation and our ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system - allows us to offer full-service solutions to any solid-waste-handling needs a client may have.
CLEAN TECHNOLOGY FOR CANADA AND THE WORLD
With the Cyclonator series of incinerators, Ketek has developed a cost-effective solution to solid waste management. Construction standards are controlled using the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and customized to the client’s unique needs.
The client is involved from the very beginning of the design, ensuring you get the quality you need and the value you want. Cyclonator Incinerators are designed to be practical, reliable and to have low operational costs and maintenance requirements.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL CHOICE
At Ketek, we provide the environmental solutions that suit your business needs best. As part of our full-service capability, Ketek offers consultation on the quantification of GHG emissions as per ISO 14064, on baseline setting and on monetization in the carbon emissions space using the carbon market financial instruments prescribed under various carbon-offset regimes.
A coordinated solid waste program with a Cyclonator Incinerator will reduce the environmental impact of waste disposal when compared with the use of carbon intensive options such as landfills. Solid waste decomposition in landfills produces methane and CO2 and since methane is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide in terms of its global warming potential, its avoidance by incineration is one of the factors supporting thermal oxidation of wastes as a potential reduction of GHGs, which helps move companies into a low-carbon space.
The Cyclonator range of designs also offer heat-recovery options, which can increase your return on investment and reduce your carbon footprint and potentially add additional revenue streams to further strengthen the business’s bottom line. Ketek has a comprehensive range of technologies available to help capture the heat generated and use as heat.
FIT-FOR-PURPOSE WASTE MANAGEMENT
Waste management doesn’t begin with the incinerator. Ketek’ solid waste management approach is to apply the three Rs of reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible. It’s only after these steps are taken that thermal oxidation is considered for the waste that remains. Our solid waste management service couples source separation with innovative incineration design features customized to your choices.
We offer incineration as the preferred disposal method through:
- Proven equipment performance and supporting technical services over the long term;
- Enabling source separation and diversion options as part of the solution to target zero waste;
- Tracking environmental indicators against stakeholder interests;
- Ensuring self-contained operation and maintenance; and
- Meeting all environmental approvals, including air-emissions and GHG standards.
Proven Cyclonator system applications include:
- Oil & gas and industrial operations with industrial wastes;
- Remote camps and small communities with mixed wastes;
- Medical and biological waste for safe disposal;
- Military designated wastes and mixed wastes; and
- Animal and aquaculture waste.
Ketek’s Forced Air incinerators destroy mixed solid wastes efficiently and reduce the risk of contaminating the environment (air, water and land). They’re safe, environmentally friendly and easy to operate.
Ketek’s Controlled Air Incinerators destroy solid wastes that include hazardous materials efficiently and reduce the risk of contaminating the environment (air, water and land). They’re safe, environmentally friendly and easy to operate.
Our Cyclonator Incinerators are delivered ready to run with service options and global sales support through reliable, knowledgeable distributors. Cyclonator incinerators have certified international performance capabilities designed for the unique waste stream, with pollution control systems as required. These can include optional filters for particulate matter and scrubber systems for acid gases.
Ketek manufactures both Forced Air and Controlled Air models. Both have found applications in the oil and gas, mining, industrial, municipal medical (biological) and military sectors. The Cyclonator Forced Air incinerators are designed for Type 0, 1, 2, 3 wastes and Controlled Air incinerators for higher capacity Type 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 wastes.
The Controlled Air design includes a primary chamber with exhaust gases passing through a secondary chamber for re-burning of any residual harmful gas components. This secondary combustion is sized for controlling reaction time and destruction temperatures before safe release to the atmosphere. Dioxins, furans, and similar gaseous pollutants are destroyed at operating temperatures of between 650 and 1,000 deg C with a reaction time of two seconds and excess oxygen of more than six per cent. When required, environmental controls can be integrated into the design.
KETEK AROUND THE WORLD
Ketek has distributor agreements in India and Colombia for its Cyclonator Incinerators and all water treatment and surface water products and services. In 2017, we welcomed distributors in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to our global reach and are actively promoting the application of innovative products and services. Ketek’s global business model has been developed incollaboration with National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program.
