H2S Alive – Training Course in Edmonton, Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie

This H2S Alive Course by Energy Safety Canada is designed to prepare workers to recognize H2S (hydrogen sulfide) hazards and protect themselves.

  • Respiratory protective equipment
  • Detection of H2S
  • Initial response strategy

Requirements

  • Participants must be able to use the mask and breathe under air
  • Participants must be able to participate in the rescue drag techniques

Why is a H2S Alive course important?

Hydrogen sulphide is an extremely hazardous gas that occurs naturally in crude petroleum and natural gas. This training course will help people work safely in and around H2S environments.

Who should attend?

H2S Alive is designed for individuals who are currently working or wanting to work in the Oil & Gas Industry where there is a potential for hazardous gas exposure. Participants will learn to recognize H2S hazards and how to protect themselves, as well as how to perform basic rescues related to H2S situations.

On-site course delivery

H2S Alive training can be provided at your convenience. It can be delivered at a client facility if Energy Safety Canada classroom standards are met, necessary equipment is available, and COVID-19 protocols are in place.

Advertised prices are based on course delivery within 50 km of Edmonton. Cost may vary based on client needs and location. Course length may vary depending on class size, student interaction, and skill level of participants.

H2S Alive certificate

Upon successful completion of the H2S Alive course or H2S Blended Renewal Assessment, a certificate of completion will be provided.
Re-certification: Every three years

Certificates will only be issued upon successful completion of both the theory portion and the practical evaluation of the course. (80% minimum required for both components)

Unsuccessful candidates may take the course again at full cost based on course availability and the discretion of the instructor.

Prerequisites

All students are required to bring government-issued identification. If verification is not provided, the student will not be permitted to take the course.

Cancellation: 24-hours notice is required for all cancellations

  • Late arrivals that are denied entrance to the class, or who fail to attend the class without notification (no-shows), will forfeit the full course fee.
  • Qualified substitutions will be allowed up to the course start date in lieu of forfeitures.
