Course Description

This basic course provides comprehensive training in Indoor Overhead Cranes, Hoisting, and Rigging. The curriculum covers:
- Legislation
- Indoor overhead crane terminology
- Components
- Markings
- Operation of indoor overhead cranes
- Hand signals
- Rigging and hoisting principles
- Determining load weights
- Rigging hardware
- Makeshift rigging
- Sling angles
- Rigging inspection
- Load control and hitches
The course includes a practical component where you’ll apply your knowledge to inspections, lifting calculations, and sling angles.
To prevent fatalities and serious injuries, proper inspection and operation of overhead cranes are crucial. Significant risks also include workers being struck by a moving load or becoming pinched between a load and other objects.
Anyone who will be operating indoor overhead cranes or involved in rigging and hoisting tasks, seeking to develop safe and proficient skills.

Indoor Overhead Crane, Hoisting and Rigging training price:
$250.00 +GST
- Prices are based on delivery within 50 km of Edmonton and may vary by location and client needs.
- Retail, Corporate, and Preferred Corporate pricing is available.
- All confirmed bookings will be honored at the advertised/quoted price.
- Duration: Approximately 6 hours (includes practical component).
- Certification: Upon successful completion (80% minimum on both theory and practical components), you’ll receive a certificate.
- Re-certification: Required every three years.
- Prerequisites: All students must bring valid government-issued identification.
- PPE Required: 6″ safety boots, safety gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, and hi-vis vests.
- Cancellations: 24-hour notice is required. Late arrivals or no-shows will forfeit the full course fee. Qualified substitutions are permitted up to the course start date.
